But here's what everyone misses: Musk’s power isn’t limitless. He's vulnerable—to investors, to creditors, and even to the political whims of Donald Trump. His popularity is plummeting, his empire is brittle, and if you look closely, the cracks are already showing.

Musk Complaint #1: Halting Elon Musk and DOGE's Lawless Control of the Government

Standing up for Americans who have been harmed by Elon Musk and DOGE’s illegal cuts to the federal budget, terminations of federal employees, and threats to executive agencies (Japanese American Citizens League et al. v. Musk et al.).

DOGE has done immense harm to everyday Americans by dismantling executive departments and agencies, cutting federal funding allocated by Congress, firing federal workers and trying to dramatically reduce the size of the federal workforce.

Elon Musk’s direction of DOGE’s activities and the significant authority he exercises is entirely lawless. He has no authority under the Constitution or federal law to cut spending or terminate employees. These actions violate the constitutional separation of powers: Congress, not Musk, has control over federal spending.

Elon Musk was not elected by the American people and is not a Senate-confirmed public official. Musk has absolutely no legal right to make decisions on how our government spends money. That must be done by Congress and the president by passing laws. Once implemented, the president has no authority to undo these actions.

Musk Complaint #2: Shining a light on Musk’s corruption

Formally calling on the Department of Transportation’s acting inspector general investigate whether the FAA’s decisions regarding Starlink were improperly influenced.

As a “special government employee,” multibillionaire Elon Musk must abide by laws that require government officials to remove themselves from overseeing matters that could impact their financial interests.

However, Musk has shown no attempt to remove himself from matters that involve his companies, Tesla and SpaceX, which account for at least $15.4 billion in government contracts over the past decade and span multiple government agencies.

In particular, he is closely tied with the FAA’s use of Starlink, the satellite internet service operated by SpaceX. Musk’s public statements claim that he and DOGE are directly involved with advising the FAA on the modernization of its air traffic control technology.

Musk announced his involvement after publicly criticizing another company that works with the FAA — and who also directly competes with Starlink.

After his public statements criticizing his competitor, the FAA reportedly considered canceling a $2.4 billion contract with Verizon. Separately, the FAA has confirmed that it has begun using Starlink for parts of its air traffic control system.

These lawsuits aren’t symbolic. They’re the front line of democracy defense.

When Congress refuses to do its constitutional duty, litigation becomes one of the most consequential tools we have left. The courts are our co-equal branch of government, and through them, we are building a detailed, undeniable record of Musk’s corruption, misconduct, and authoritarian ambitions.
