Trump and his MAGAts are trying to skirt the Constitution in nearly every action of theirs, especially this. Their arguments in defense are pure sophistry. They LIE in court. They LIE in Congress. They LIE to the press. They LIE to all of us. "I just say it and I keep saying it. They'll believe it." -- Donald Trump. LOCK'IM UP!

Sometimes the lies are so brazen and bizarre I'm embarrassed for them. History will remember what their supporters forget.

I'm embarrassed for the country! We have to face the disgust of the world. The U.S. is now not seen as credible, trustworthy, or even honorable. In less than 3 months, this jerk has done that!

Hopefully they'll be so relieved when our government eventually returns to rationality that they'll give our people some grace.

Perhaps postcards instead of envelopes (that could contain dangerous substances and need to be screened.) I think swamping a senator or representative with postcards would also mean you could reach someone out of your own district

Great idea.. we'll check to see if it would actually speed up delivery, or if postcards get stuck with the envelopes. If the former, we'll help organize!

We must shame the GOP for their Bait & Switch. Nobody voted for THIS. We must make every MAGA uncomfortable living their lovely lives. Go to the PROTEST today near you. Find your courage and always speak up in the face of their lies. This entire gangster regime lies about everything. Everything. RESIST

Well said! As you noted, for those who've gone to law school, due process is the essence of our justice system. "No person shall be . . . be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law." Note the language of the Constitution is "person", not citizen or resident or anything else. Most Americans apparently are unaware of this fundamental right. So, the Trump-ICE seizures of people on the streets of our cities and campuses, without legal authorization, is blatantly a violation of the Constitution. The Constitution is a valuable document, BUT if we don't fight to enforce it, it is not worth the parchment is is written on.

Much like a dollar. It's worth something because we all agree that it is.

Excellent piece. trump used and abused the judical system, yet he doesn't want to give an apparent innocent man his day in court. Standard authoritarian maiac. trump was convicted fo 34 felonies, held liable for sexual assault and defamation, and headed fraudulent foundation and university, both of which he had to pay hefty fines. But he is dismissive of sending an innocent man to a concentration camp a chance to be heard. The medianods its stupid heads like bobble heads in the presence of the mad king and do not point out this grotesque hypocrisy. The media is obeying in advance and cowering to the most despicable criminal to ever inhabit the Oval Office.

This issue; trump and his “administration” At his behest ignoring the courts and Constitution over due process, could be the best, clearest, easiest to pursue impeachable offense, among many, to sell to congress.

It won’t happen by itself. It will require a building crescendo of outcry. It will require NOT letting the issue dry up and disappear due to inadequate energy in it’s pursuit.

It most of all will require public outcry to push forward strong conviction for the courts - enough to even motivate the SCOTUS and the wobbling bobble-head representatives and Senators who have been playing the “we’re all (R) politicians, together, aren’t we?” card INSTEAD OF the understanding that we’re all Americans FIRST and the crisis has crossed the line.

Many of them will not come around till they realize anyone still in trump’s camp as we approach midterms is hugging a toxic dumpster-fire rollercoaster.

As disturbing as it all is, the worse they get, the more people wake up. This will not be how America's grand experiment ends.

Thanks for what you are doing. I have called the office of both of my senators and expressed my dismay at their silence in light of the President's ignoring of the constitution.

Charles Manson enjoyed due process. So yeah. We don't have to like it.

Exactly. Donald Trump got due process, and he's done a hell of a lot worse than most of the men he sent to El Salvador with no criminal history.

Theoretically we don't know that they are "bad guys" until due process is provided.
